Just one of my favorites from my session with Miranda.

It it is not my intention to start posting all kinds of pictures of my dog and bragging about how cute she is, that kind of behavior is reserved for photographs of Xander B. It’s just that I snapped a few of her last night and they turned out well. And, there’s nothing wrong with sharing well exposed photographs with some good texture in them that just happen to include an adorable little dog named Maeby.

Thanks for posting this Jon! You beat me to it :) Here’s the description, just updated, I wrote on Vimeo:

I’m over a week late writing a description for this video. In all honesty I never expected it to get so much attention! This was my first time at SXSW and my first time shooting video with my 60D. I’ve never shot video other than clips on my iPhone so it was a good learning experience.

Mike and I took 3 days to drive to Austin and 2 days driving back (thanks to Vu for being our driver on the way back!) Road trips are the devil, but I could possibly be talked into another one if I was promised the same awesomeness that is SXSW.

I feel special (and thankful) to be a part of the Vimeo/CNN project and to tag along and hold the boom while Mike and Zadi filmed for I Heart the Web. I wish we could have stayed for all the music, next time that has to happen.

Thanks for all the lovely and kind comments. I’m happy you all have enjoyed the video!

That is all…

Our 60D arrived and one of the first features I wanted to try out was the articulating screen. I was planning on getting the 5D Mark II but since this camera was going to be Mike’s first chance to really play with DSLR I “compromised” and got the 60D. Why? The articulating screen, a simple feature that apparently makes Mike feel a little more comfortable shooting on a DSLR. I guess I can’t complain too much, we saved a chunk of money by not getting the 5D Mark II. My only complaint so far is the speed, but I kind of expected it to be a little slow in reaction.
I harassed some friends with it today and am editing the images now, I’ll save my opinions on those until they’re finished.
